This calculator works out Australian GST (goods and services tax) for a price that is GST-exclusive or GST-inclusive. It’s for anyone pricing invoices/quotes, checking receipts, or estimating GST on sales (including mixed invoices with GST-free/input-taxed lines). You need the amount (AUD) and whether it includes GST. GST is 10% of the value of a taxable supply. For GST-inclusive prices, GST is commonly treated as 1/11 of the GST-inclusive amount. Some sales are GST-free (0% GST), while others are input-taxed (0% GST but no GST credits on related inputs). This calculator also supports mixed invoices, importing goods (GST on the value of taxable importation), and the real property margin scheme (GST = margin ÷ 11). Verified 28 Jan 2026. Informational estimate only—final invoices or BAS may differ due to rounding or specific GST rules.
